Na meste vspyshki na arhivnyh snimkah net nikakoi yarkoi zvezdy, t.e. vspyshku nel'zya otnesti k aktivnosti LBV zvezd (yarkih golubyh peremennyh) tipa Eta Kilya. S drugoi storony, opticheskii tranzient sushestvenno slabee samyh slabyh sverhnovyh, no sushestvenno yarche izvestnyh novyh. Avtory polagayut, chto prichinoi vspyshki moglo stat' sliyanie dvuh obychnyh zvezd. V proshlom dvazhdy fiksirovalis' pohozhie vspyshki (v tumannosti Andromedy i v nashei galaktike), no izuchit' ih podrobno ne udavalos'.

    V dannoi stat'e avtory rasmatrivayut vozmozhnost' togo, chto chast' gamma-fona na energiyah poryadka GeV i desyatkov GeV mozhet byt' svyazana s konversiei ochen' energichnyh gamma-fotonov ot dalekih blazarov. Neobhodimost' etogo svyazana s tem, chto ob'yasnit' ves' fon prosto izlucheniem blazarov udaetsya lish' pri ves'ma ekstremal'nyh predpolozheniyah. T.o., bylo neploho pridumat' dopolnitel'nyi istochnik GeVnyh fotonov, naprimer poluchit' ih iz bolee energichnyh, putem svoeobraznoi "peregonki". Konversiya svyazana so vzaimodeistviem gamma-fotonov s fotonami nizkih energii (poslednih v prostrastve predostatochno). Vyvod sostoit v tom, chto do 30 procentov fona mozhno svyazat' s etim processom.
